What is Botulinum toxin (Botox and Azzalure) and how does it work?

Botox and Azzalure are market-leading brand names for the botulinum toxin, which can be used as a treatment to relax wrinkles and temporarily lessen the appearance of lines on the face.

How long will Botulinum toxin (Botox and Azzalure) last?

Botulinum toxin (Botox and Azzalure) on average lasts between 3 and 4 months.

After your treatment, we will invite you for a follow up appointment to assess the results and make sure we have achieved the desired outcome.

What will my Botulinum toxin treatment involve?

Your Sisu practitioner will make a series of small injections into the muscle of your selected area. The treatment itself will only require a 30 minute appointment. The needles used for Botulinum toxin (Botox and Azzalure) are very fine, so there will be minimal pain – numbing cream is available upon request. We ask that after the treatment you avoid alcohol, facials or any heavy exercise for one day.

Are there any side effects to a Botulinum toxin treatment?

There may be some immediate bruising, redness or bleeding to the area treated. Other symptoms may include headaches, dizziness and faintness, numbness, droopy eyelids or muscle spasms, but these are rare. You will be given an aftercare leaflet after your treatment which will be also be explained to you. If you are concerned or worried about any side effects please don’t hesitate to call us on the number on back of your leaflet, leave a voicemail if out of hours.

What are Dermal Fillers (Juvederm and Restylane) and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin and are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin. Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid which is a substance that naturally exists in your body.

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

Juvederm Ultra 2, Juvederm Ultra 3 and Juvederm Ultra 4 last 6-9 months, longer for some people. Juvederm Volbella for tear troughs under the eyes and upper-lip lines lasts up to 1 year, longer for some people. Juvederm Volift for lips, nose-to-mouth lines, mouth-to-chin lines, hands and temple hallows lasts 12-15 months, longer for some people. Juvederm Voluma for nose, cheeks and chin lasts 12-18 months, longer for some people.

What will my Dermal Filler treatment involve?

Your Sisu practitioner will make a series of small injections your selected treatment area. The treatment itself will only require a 30 minute appointment. You will feel a small scratch as the needle goes into the skin and a warming effect as the hyaluronic acid gel is injected. We ask that after the treatment you avoid alcohol, facials or any heavy exercise for 48 hours.

Are there any side effects to a Dermal Filler treatment?

You might get bruising, swelling and some tenderness following the treatment, this is normal. You will be given an aftercare leaflet after your treatment which will be also be explained to you. If you are concerned or worried about any side effects please don’t hesitate to call us on the number on back of your leaflet, leave a voicemail if out of hours.

Do I have to have a consultation before my treatment?

Yes. We will discuss the procedure, expectations and any concerns in a free consultation so that you feel 100% confident having your treatment. We will also ask you a series of health related questions to assess your suitability for the procedure.

How can I pay?

If you book a treatment after your consultation we ask that you pay a £40 deposit as Sisu orders your treatment product in advance of your treatment date.
We accept payments by cash, debit card and credit card.

You should NOT have this treatment if:

  • You are under the age of 18 years old
  • The injection site is infected
  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a neuromuscular disorder (e.g. myasthenia gravis)
